Perch is published by Alexander Robert Wohl and is designed to give you a clear view of your loyalty points without asking for your inbox, bank account, or browsing history.
What Perch stores
Perch stores the loyalty programs you select, balances you confirm, dated balance snapshots, optional qualifying-activity dates, optional personal valuations, and app preferences. When private sync is configured, Perch also uses an automatically generated anonymous account identifier for that installation. The sample portfolio shown during onboarding is read-only preview data; it is not added to your portfolio or sent to the sync service.
Screenshot recognition
Screenshot selection is optional and user initiated. Perch uses Apple Vision on your device to suggest a points balance. Perch does not upload or retain the selected image. You review the detected number before anything is saved.
Device-bound anonymous sync
When private sync is configured, confirmed portfolio data is sent to Supabase and linked to the anonymous session for that installation. Row-level access controls restrict user-owned data to that anonymous account. When private sync is unavailable, portfolio data remains on the device.
This feature is synchronization, not durable account recovery. Perch does not provide a username, password, or recovery method for the anonymous session. If its credentials are lost—for example after clearing app data or moving to a new device—Perch cannot restore access to that session.
Notifications
If you grant notification permission, Perch schedules local expiry reminders on your device from qualifying-activity dates you explicitly confirm. Perch does not infer program activity from a balance check.
What Perch does not do
Perch does not connect to bank accounts, read email inboxes, sell personal data, serve advertising, or track activity across other companies’ apps and websites. Editorial portfolio values are estimates and are not cash balances or guaranteed redemption outcomes.
Service providers and retention
Supabase provides authentication, database, and private-sync infrastructure. Data is retained until you delete it in the app or retention is required to comply with law.
Your choices
You can use core portfolio features offline, decline photo and notification access, edit or remove individual holdings, and erase all data from Profile. When private sync is active, “Delete account & data” also deletes the anonymous account and its associated cloud rows.
Security and changes
Perch uses platform security controls and access policies intended to protect stored data, but no system can guarantee absolute security. This policy may be updated as the product changes; the effective date above will be revised when it does.
